What is this?
With the high admission rates, parking has been really bad on campus lately, so this app is an attempt at bettering that. This app shows you parking spaces on campus that are likely to be available so that you spend less time looking for parking. The information from this app is crowdsourced by other students like you. The more people use it, the more useful it will be, so share it with other students that are also struggling to find parking.
Prerequisites
This app requires geolocation (GPS) permissions to work properly. If you don't see a prompt asking for location permissions, make sure that your GPS is on and that this browser/app you're using has permission to use the GPS. This is something you can change in your device's settings.
How do I use this?
If you find a parking spot on campus (even if it's not listed on this app), press the "I took this spot" button. This will let others know that spot is not available. When you leave the spot, press the "I left" button. This will let others know that spot is available.
When using the app to find a parking slot, look for the circles on the map:
Parking spots that have been marked as available less than 5 minutes ago.
Parking spots that have been marked as available more than 5 minutes ago.
Parking spots that have been marked as available more than 10 minutes ago.
Installing this app
This is a Progressive Web App, which means you can either use it in the browser or install it on your phone as a normal app. If you're using a Chromium based browser on Android, you should see an "Install this app" button that you can use to install the app to your phone. If you're using an iPhone; on Safari, you will need to press the "share" button and then press "Add to homescreen".
Is something broken?
That's expected, this app was put together really quickly (less than a day) and the hope is that if people find it useful, we can continue to improve it. Join our and report any bugs or features you would like to see.
